Interview - Motivation for starting Measure Success Podcast. What were you doing at that time?

Behind the Mic | Behind the Mic with the Host of Measure Success Podcast: Carl Cox

Arjun Sundararajan: I think you wanna jump into, like, asking you about your motivation. And I think you mentioned this, like, you know, or you had a great story over here. When you started this measure success, like, what what were you doing at that time like, what was happening around then?
Carl Cox: Well, let let's see. This was early twenty ones. Was the end of twenty two, and I just came off of once again that appendix burst But this was the first thing I thought I could launch and I actually hooked up with Another organization, I did a great job called Rise twenty five, and they helped me understand kinda how to do it. I do recommend once again, this is what you do and I understand it's really wise to start out with a professional. And and the reason behind that is they're gonna accelerate you to be successful in your path. If you do it on your own, you're gonna it's gonna take you a year or too longer to to really do well.
Arjun Sundararajan: Right.
Carl Cox: And so they were fantastic to get us off board and really get going now. Initially, we had set it up as Hey, this is a great way to get clients. In out don't mind that. I was like, hey, A great way. You have a conversation. It's not a it's not a a thirty minute interview. It's it's a... Hey, here's a potential client I could talk with, and I get to interview them. What a great way to connect? But what happened to me was surprising I found when I was trying to get business off of it. I wasn't being as authentic as I should've have been. And so I stopped selling. I stopped trying to offer services. I stopped trying do things. And a matter of fact, I just started giving more. I I literally order swag for all of our
Arjun Sundararajan: Nice.
Carl Cox: clients. So we we give them a shirt or a sweatshirt or or something like that as a gift. Nobody does that. That that literally, I think we're the only people that I'm aware of that actually does something like that. We... Once again, we open up our Ro x to them. We share as much. We don't charge them anything for it. But what we found is the connections in the learning and tests we're so transparent about it now. This is just about giving. This is not about getting in return.
Arjun Sundararajan: Alright.
Carl Cox: What what happens when you've just focus on giving, you get way more and back in return. And so I would say our have our focus the right place. And that's what's been really helpful with it.
Arjun Sundararajan: Amazing. Love it. I think this is this not the first time I'm hearing these things about, like, how people
